Andy Taylor

Andy hails from Indianapolis, Indiana . As a 4 year old his mother inherited a baby grand piano. Andy
took the standard color coded teaching aids to start pluncking on the keys. He eventually took piano
lessons and found that he enjoyed playing by ear instead of playing from sheet music or books. When
Andy was in High School he liked to play along with songs on the radio, eventually joining the 5th
Regiment Band as a 6th member.
Andy served as a Church Music Director in the late 70’s and early 80’s. He rejuvenated his performance
career in the 90’s with a Band called Firestorm which evolved into Sheriff Taylor and the Deputies.
Andy has worked with several female vocalist in Firestorm Band and is pleased to have that opportunity
with Messin’ Around Band. His influences include keyboardists Ray Manzarek of The Doors, Jon Lord of
Deep Purple, and Dennis De Young of Styx . Andy loves to see Styx perform live. He enjoys
Whitesnake, REO, most Hair Bands, and really enjoys Robert Cray Band. Angeline has recently turned
Andy on to older Colin James performances and he hopes to start performing them with Messin’
Around.
